The Environmental Measurements Facility (EMF) provides quantitative analysis and technical expertise to members of the Stanford community.

We have instruments for solid, aquouse and gas sample analyses.

Main content start

  • Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometers (ICP-MS X-Series II, ICP-MS RQ, and ICP-OES)
  • Ion Chromatography Systems (ICS-6000 and IC DX-500)
  • Discrete Analyzer (WestCo SmartChem 200)
  • Total Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Analyzer (TOC and TN)
  • Elemental Analyzer for N and C
  • Gas Chromatography System for Greenhouse gases (N2O, CH4, CO2, CO, O2, and N2)
  • Xepos HE XRF Spectometer for elemental analysis
  • MiniFlex 600 Benchtop X-ray Diffraction System for qualitative and quantitative analysis of polycrystalline materials
